Private Pilot

Every aviation journey starts with a Private Pilot License

Whether you dream of flying over international skies or simply want to see your hometown from a new altitude, it all begins here. The FAA requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight training before you can take your private pilot checkride. After successfully completing your oral exam and meeting all other requirements, you’ll take to the skies with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), who will evaluate your skills and—once you pass—award you your private pilot certificate.

Instrument Pilot

Advance Your Training with an Instrument Rating

After earning your Private Pilot Certificate, the next step in your aviation journey is obtaining your Instrument Rating. This advanced training enables you to fly through clouds and low-visibility conditions by relying solely on your aircraft’s instrument panel. Once your training is complete, you’ll take another oral exam and checkride with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). Gaining this rating requires in-depth study and the development of new skills as Pilot in Command. We highly recommend all private pilots pursue their Instrument Rating to enhance flight safety and ensure confident navigation—even in challenging weather conditions.

Commercial Pilot

Unlock New Opportunities with a Commercial Pilot Certificate

Earning your Commercial Pilot Certificate opens the door to a whole new level of flying. With greater flexibility in the types of aircraft you can operate and fewer restrictions on what—and who—you can carry, you’re cleared for a broader range of missions. After obtaining your Private Pilot License and logging at least 250 hours of flight time, you’ll be eligible to take the commercial checkride. Many pilots find the commercial certification process more straightforward than earning the Instrument Rating. With this certificate, you can fly for hire—whether it’s passengers or cargo—and finally turn your passion into a profession. It’s the perfect balance of freedom and opportunity.

Flight Instructor Certificate

Take the Next Step: Become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

Earning your Commercial Pilot Certificate opens the door to a wide range of aviation careers—but most opportunities require additional flight experience. One of the most effective ways to build those hours is by becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. While challenging, this path is incredibly rewarding and highly respected within the aviation community. As a CFI, you’ll sharpen your skills, deepen your knowledge, and gain valuable experience—all while helping the next generation of pilots learn to fly. It’s the perfect way to grow as a pilot and prepare for a thriving career in aviation.
